...E Prini
November 2025
‘…E Prini’ is the brand-new publication we designed for MACRO (Museum of Contemporary Art, Rome) and Sternberg Press. Edited together with Luca Lo Pinto and his team (Lorana Stamo, Matteo Binci), offset-printed by Drukkerij Wilco, and featuring contributions by John Knight, Hans Ulricht Obrist, Anri Sala, Lara Favaretto, and many others, the tome is basically a 416-page paperback monograph (215 x 305 mm) on the practice of Emilio Prini (1943–2016), the great, influential (but somewhat forgotten) Arte Povera artist – with a body of work that critically explored the production, reproduction, re-reproduction, overproduction, counter-production, and anti-production of images.
The publication is also surprisingly relevant for graphic designers – as Prini’s practice includes various interventions in printed matter, violently critical (yet ambivalent) reflections on mass media, typographic experiments, semiotic installations, and many other linguistic gestures.
